What is a Hackathon?
A Hackathon is an event in which a large number of people meet to engage in collaborative computer programming. During OHacks II, participants will build and present their creations in just 12 hours!
How can I get there?
Oakland Hacks II will be hosted at the Kapor Center in Downtown Oakland. It is walking distance from the 19th street BART station.
Who can participate?
OHacks is open to all high school students regardless of experience. If you’ve already graduated from high school, you can’t participate, but you can come help mentor others.
Does this cost money?
Oakland Hacks is completely free for all participants. Things like food, swag, and most of the thing's you'll find at OHacks will be free.
What if I can't code?
Anyone can participate at OHacks regardless of prior coding experience. Plus, we'll have workshops and mentors at the event to help you learn. Check out our Beginner's Guide HERE.
What can I bring to the event?
Here are a few things that you should bring:
+Laptop and power cord
+Business cards
+Camera - take pictures and video!
+Lots of creative energy!
Optional: A pillow, blanket, second monitor, keyboard, etc... Set yourself up to be comfortable and productive!
